On June 2003, a jury convicted defendant, Jason A. Spyres, of cannabis trafficking -more than 5,000 grams of a substance containing cannabis. The trial court later sentenced him to 20 years in prison.

In May 2002, the State charged defendant with (1)cannabis trafficking, (2) possession of cannabis with intent to deliver, (3) possession of cannabis.
